Please may I ask who might be the politicians that can be trusted with the tools in the U.S? Despairingly here, in UK politics, I see none for the first time in my voting life and it’s scary.
I think this is a place where discernment is imperative. There are still people in politics who want to make positive change. Engagement is an integral part of accountability. People are exhausted. Exhaustion and frustration lead people to disengage. The tools I’m speaking of in this piece are OUR tools. Our ability to protest, engage, donate, organize, vote—even run for office. We can compel those in power to change course through consistent action. Everything we do matters, even engaging on social media in a free exchange of ideas. Nothing is insignificant.
